    Genesys Supplement: Age of Exploration

This project aims to develop a structured campaign setting supplement for the Genesys Roleplaying System by Fantasy Flight Games that will be (eventually) sold on DriveThruRPG. The supplement will include lore, new archetypes, talents, adversaries, and setting-specific rules to enrich the Genesys system and provide Game Masters and players with a ready-to-use fantasy world.
Multiple types of Age of Exploration worlds should be defined (Real world, 7th sea, original, etc.)

Goals and Objectives:

  • Design a complete, original fantasy setting compatible with the Genesys Narrative Dice System.
  • Provide engaging and usable content for GMs, including:
    • World history and lore
    • Regional maps and factions
    • Adventure seeds and narrative hooks
  • Create mechanical content, including:
    • New Archetypes and Careers
    • New Talents and Skills
    • Unique Magic Implementations
    • Adversaries and NPC stat blocks
  • Publish and distribute under the Genesys Foundry guidelines (DriveThruRPG).

Scope:

Inclusions:
  • A fully detailed campaign setting with unique themes and tone
  • Rules for character creation specific to the setting
  • At least one pre-written introductory adventure
  • Visuals: maps, character art, adversary tokens (as budget allows)
  • Formatting and layout suitable for digital and print-on-demand release
Exclusions:
  • No physical product distribution outside of POD services
  • No content incompatible with Genesys Foundry guidelines or IP restrictions

Deliverables:

  1. Core Setting Guide (50–100 pages PDF)
    • Setting overview
    • Player options (Archetypes, Talents, Careers)
    • GM tools (Adversaries, Setting Rules, Magic Variants)
    • Adventure hooks and themes
  2. Introductory Adventure Module (15–25 pages PDF)
    • Pre-generated characters
    • Session-ready adventure
    • Maps and stat blocks
  3. Supplementary Assets (optional)
    • Printable reference sheets
    • World/region maps (JPEG/PDF)
    • NPC cards or adversary tokens

Target Audience:

  • Genesys RPG players and Game Masters
  • Story-driven RPG players interested in new fantasy settings
  • Creators and contributors to the Genesys Foundry

Milestones & Timeline:

Milestone Deliverable Due Date

Risks and Considerations:

  • Legal Compliance: Adherence to Genesys Foundry publishing guidelines and restrictions
  • Scope Creep: Avoid expanding beyond manageable project size
  • Playtesting Time: Ensuring enough feedback is gathered and incorporated
  • Art Budget: Commissioning original art may be cost-prohibitive

Tools and Platforms:

  • Writing: Google Docs / Scrivener
  • Layout: Affinity Publisher / Adobe InDesign
  • Art: Commissioned via platforms like ArtStation or Fiverr
  • Publishing: Genesys Foundry (via DriveThruRPG)
